Frequently asked questions
Answers about Libera — students, instructors, organizations, programs, sessions, and how we fit alongside other Lumina products.
What is Libera?
Libera is the online learning platform from LUMINA Nigeria Limited. It offers structured programs, live and recorded sessions, enrollments, and an AI teaching assistant that answers from your program materials (RAG). Our tagline is Accessible Knowledge — built for students, instructors, and organizations that want cohort-based digital learning.
What is the Libera project?
“Libera project” usually refers to this platform and its programs: the Libera web app (programs, sessions, reviews, certificates), the API, and the teaching assistant. It is the learning arm of Lumina — separate from Lumina DPM, which is parish-management software for Catholic communities.
How do I join Libera as a student?
Create an account with your email: sign up, verify your email with the code we send, then complete your name and password. After verification, browse Programs, open one you like, and enroll. You will only see session materials for programs you are enrolled in.
How do I enroll in a program?
Go to Programs, choose a program, and use Enroll (when you are signed in). Enrollment is per program. After enrolling, you can open published sessions, complete assessments where provided, join live or recorded sessions when your instructor publishes them, and leave a program review when you have participated.
What are programs and sessions on Libera?
A program is a full offering (for example several weeks) with a schedule and outcomes. Sessions are the weekly or unit-level lessons inside that program — materials, recordings, live links, and checkpoints. Instructors create and publish sessions; students access them according to enrollment and session status.
How does the AI teaching assistant work?
The assistant uses retrieval over your program’s session content (especially AI notes and materials instructors provide). It is scoped to what was taught in the program so answers stay grounded in the course. If something is not in the materials, the assistant should say so instead of inventing facts.
How do I join Libera as an organization?
Organizations (learning centres, parishes, schools, or cohort hosts) can register interest through the Organizations journey on Libera: submit details, connect verified admins, and link learners to adopted programs where applicable. Verified organization admins can manage roster visibility and program adoption according to your setup.
How can my organization partner with Libera?
Partnership starts with defining your cohort or centre needs: which programs you want to run, how many learners you serve, and whether you need org-level onboarding. Use Contact or organization flows on the site to reach Lumina. We align on adoption of existing programs or support for instructors delivering under your umbrella.
How can our organization adopt Libera programs?
When a program is available for organizational adoption, verified admins can connect their organization to that program so members enroll under the same cohort. Availability depends on the program and Lumina configuration. Browse Organizations and program pages, or contact us to plan adoption for your centre.
How do instructors and tutors use Libera?
Instructors create programs and sessions, publish materials, configure assessments and checkpoints where enabled, connect Google Workspace for curriculum sources when offered, and view enrollments and learner progress according to role. Tutors or teaching staff aligned with an organization follow the same program tools with permissions set by your admin model.
How do I create or lead a program?
You need an instructor (or appropriate staff) account. From there you create a program, add sessions, publish session content, and open enrollment for students. Super-admin or organization-specific rules may apply for who can publish or attach programs to an organization.
Is Libera the same as Lumina DPM?
No. Libera is focused on online learning programs, sessions, and the AI teaching assistant. Lumina DPM (Digital Parish Manager) is a different product for Catholic parish operations — donations, mass bookings, and parish tools. Both are from Lumina Nigeria Limited but serve different audiences.
Can students leave reviews on Libera?
Yes. Enrolled students can leave a public program review with a mind-gain score and written feedback. Reviews are visible on the program’s reviews page and help other learners understand real experiences. Aggregates may appear in search alongside structured data we publish for the program.
How do certificates work?
When a program offers certification and you meet the completion rules your instructor sets, you may be able to download or claim a certificate from the program flow. Requirements vary by program — check the program page and instructor communications.
Where can I get help or contact Libera?
Use the Contact page on this site for general inquiries. Signed-in students can use Support from the app when available. For partnership or organization onboarding, mention your institution and cohort size so we can route you quickly.
